Ludington to Midland, MI

Day 17 of riding for us and Day 24 for the actual transcontinental riders.  It was another "Day in Paradise" and each time I've said it in the last 17 days I've actually meant it.  (Unlike when I say it at work.) We were on some beautiful Michigan roads, through Manistee National Forest and in the Pere Marquette trail system.
Craig and I both did 136 miles today and over 2,000 feet of climbing.  I won't get all notsalgic in this post, but since it was the second to last day of our riding vacation, I was deep in thought most of the day.  I'll give you all the total tomorrow after we finish our last day and some closing thoughts.

Here are some pictures from the day.

Craig, Jerry (MN,CO,HI) and me.  Jerry was on my 2010 NTC - Northern Trans-Continental and has been a jewel of a friend ever since.  He is the kindest and most adventurous spirit out there!  He was crewing for the second half of he NTC.
 Scottville fish statue
 Baldwin Courthouse at mile 32.8
Almost 1,800 miles later - Craig's bike is making some weird noises

John takes great pride in his stop.  Notice the flowers and the presentation of the snacks!!!
Quilt art on the USPS office

Had to go back and take this picture.  It said only 20 miles to go, now if it had an extra '0' in it i would have thought my cousin, Suzy wrote it!!  haahaa!!! It was cool, given that it is spelled exactly the same!

Drew(CA) is on lunch crew and clearly having lots of fun making bacon tomato grilled cheeses!!!
Another cool barn!  Look at the shingles  - the different colors and design in the roof.
